Minnesota Set New Record for Handgun Carry Permits in 2020

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The number of handgun carry permits issued in Minnesota last year was almost double the total from 2019 and was the highest since the Personal Protection Act went into effect in 2003.
A new report from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says Sheriff s throughout the state received nearly 102,000 permit applications and issued 96,554 firearm carry permits in 2020. The total from the previous year was just under 51,500 and the previous record high total was 71,156 in 2016.
The Olmsted County Sheriff s Office reported receiving 1877 applications.1580 permits were issued last year, 43 applications were rejected, and 253 of the applications are still pending. Hennepin County issued the most carry permits last year at 11,346.

This register records in one place all 1,244 islands, islets and rocks in Croatia classified according to external characteristics, features and other parameters important for the management, use and preservation of a unique island geographical unit.
The aim of the Register of Islands is data and cartographic recording of all 78 islands, 524 islets and 642 rocks that are an integral part of the territory of Croatia, creating databases for islands that will serve as a basis for analytical reports necessary for further guidance and policy of island development.
Record High Vaccine Doses Administered
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced 183,984 first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours, a record high for the state. Additionally, the Governor announced 5,143,219 first and second doses have been administered to date, 801,993 of which were administered by state-run mass vaccination sites. As of 11AM today, New York providers have administered 95 percent of first doses so far delivered. The Week 12 allocation from the federal government is in the process of being delivered to providers for administration.
